Who runs this site?
Hello. I’m Chris Willoughby, a counsellor and psychotherapist working in the South East of England.
For the past 8 years I have specialised in working with men who have engaged in sexually harmful behaviour - from distributing child pornography to rape and torture. Much of my therapeutic work has been in partnership with Criminal Justice agencies for clients who have received convictions for their activities.
Through this work, I became aware of two key things:

How many clients wished they had sought help before they went too far and committed a very serious crime, and

2.

How little independent and supportive resources there are on the web for people who are trying to change their problem behaviour around extreme porn and illegal sex.
|
That is why I set up Help! I want to STOP. It’s a free resource for people to help change problem and harmful behaviour before an innocent child or adult becomes a victim and carries the consequences for the rest of their life. I believe that a change on this scale often benefits from the guidance and support of another person (and usually a professional), so I’ve tried to list resources who may be able to help you in your local area (it’s a small but growing list).
